We rely on the 3 Rs (reduce, reuse and recycle)
The remains of vegetables and fruits, product of the preparation in the kitchen, are composted.
Oil: we work with the Biolis company, who take away all the oil that is coupled after use. They certify this process.
We select the plastic waste, which we give to the community collector for him to work with.
The hotel has solar thermal baths to raise the temperature of the water and thus consume less electricity.
We keep records of the energy consumption of the whole hotel, which are constantly reviewed.
As we have an excellent beach climate all year round, the air conditioning issue is challenging, we have ecological systems, since the refrigerant that is used contributes to not emitting CO2, the main cause of the greenhouse effect.
100% of our lighting is LED, which consumes much less energy.
We have a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP), which after passing its process we use it as irrigation water for our green areas.
We have water savers in our sinks.
We register the income and control the consumption of this element.
REDUCING THE IMPACT OF CLIMATE CHANGE
We have large green areas within our facilities, which, as we all know, are the lungs of the planet.
We train our staff on energy consumption and climate change to raise awareness. We understand that each worker can be responsible for significant energy savings, at the same time, they can apply this in their homes and this makes the community aware of what we are looking for.
We encourage our travelers to visit the beaches by bike or on foot during their stay.
All chemicals used for cleaning kitchens, restaurants, public areas, staff quarters, guest rooms and in the laundry room are biodegradable.
In our kitchen we use local and seasonal products, preferably organic, working together with neighboring producers to achieve a genuinely inspired menu based on our environment.
We have our own organic vegetable & spice garden in which more than 20 different crops are grown throughout the year, which are then used for our kitchen and for the spa.
We respect the ban on fishing for the species.
Our products have a standard of size, weight and spice; that are respected to the letter.
OUR VEGETABLE & SPICE GARDEN
This organic garden project, throughout the year, provides us with ingredients that nourish our kitchen, such as tomato, pepper, potato, cucumber, carrot, spinach, radish, broccoli, onion, garlic, beet, turnip and different types of lettuce and chili peppers.
It also provides us with spices that give intense aromas and flavors to our dishes, including basil, lemon verbena, mint, thyme, rosemary and coriander.
We do not use pesticides or herbicides of any kind; so it is 100% organic.
We stopped buying butter and jams that come in plastic, thereby contributing to the planet by not consuming plastic containers. Since 2019 we have been saving 154 kilos of plastic.
We use light sensors so that they turn on only when necessary.
Timed keys for housing, staff bathrooms and inside the property.
We set up a program with the municipality for continuous support from the hotel, on the subject of sustainability and constant information to schools in the area.
We have alliances with companies on the care of marine flora and fauna.
Our workers are from the area, whom we train and provide decent work.
We have a Sustainability Committee within the property, which functions as a governing body and who ensures that all the proposed objectives are met.
